We are currently recruiting for a Deputy Site Manager who is a highly motivated and well-respected individual. The ideal candidate will be capable of working independently and collaboratively with colleagues in a variety of roles. Exceptional organisational skills, attention to detail, and a methodical approach are essential, along with the ability to manage time effectively.

What the role will entail

  • Deputise for the Site Manager and maintain strong relationships with department heads.
  • Assist in managing the maintenance team to ensure timely completion of repairs and projects.
  • Assist in planning and tracking progress of major works with the Site Manager.
  • Liaise with external contractors and coordinate schedules for site repairs.
  • Promote a proactive team culture focused on identifying issues early.
  • Ensure clear communication between care managers and front office regarding contractor visits.
  • Supervise external contractors on-site, ensuring safeguarding and health & safety compliance.
  • Undertake relevant training as required.
  • Support site safety through risk assessments and maintenance of safety systems.
  • Maintain swimming pool operations, including water testing and staff certification.
  • Oversee external services like window cleaning, gardening, and play area safety.
  • Ensure maintenance equipment, gates, fences, and lighting are in good working order.
  • Assist in managing the locking systems for secure site access.
  • Ensure school vehicles are maintained, serviced, and compliant with legal requirements.
  • Monitor and maintain heating, plumbing, and sewerage systems, including pumps and boilers.
  • Build effective partnerships with stakeholders and provide updates to CEO and Trustees.
  • Comply with Health and Safety regulations and use provided protective equipment.
  • Perform any other reasonable tasks as directed by the Site Manager.

 

What is essential for the role

We’re seeking a proactive and highly organised individual with excellent project planning skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines. We are looking for an individual who is well-respected, self-motivated, and maintains a positive outlook, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively across various roles. Competence in Microsoft Office and confidence with technology are essential, along with energy, enthusiasm and resilience.

Experience in a maintenance role would be ideal with desirable qualifications including basic plumbing and electrical skills, First Aid certification, and team management experience would be an advantage. Additional desirable experience includes working in school, care, or charity environments, garden and grounds maintenance, and supporting children with special educational needs (SEN).

Hours of work

Normal working hours will be 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday. Except for one week in six when you will be expected to work on call and the core hours during this week will be 10.00am – 6.00pm.

Salary

The salary for this role is £28,957 – £35,392, this is dependent on qualifications and experience.
