Weekend Learning & Care Support Assistant

We are looking for weekend Learning & Care Support Assistants to join our dynamic, experienced and supportive care team to facilitate the children’s day and evening routines at the Loddon School.

These roles are ideal for college students, perhaps studying Level 3 Health & Social Care, or parents returning to work who are unable to work a full shift.

Loddon is a home and school to 30 children aged between 8-19, with severe learning difficulties and autism associated with complex restrictive behaviours. Previous experience of looking after children with autism would be an advantage however a can-do attitude and commitment to the children and your team is equally as important as full training will be given.

About the role:

Activities could range from a long walk through the countryside or meeting our animals at our very own farm. You could be taking part in a swimming lesson at our pool, or you might be having an art or music lesson outside in our vast grounds. Depending on the shift patterns, you may also be taking part in evening tasks which would involve calming activities such as movie night or reading a book.

Hours:

Every Saturday and Sunday between the hours of 7.30am-10pm

There may be an opportunity to work 1 day of the weekend.

Training:

Your first four weeks at Loddon aim to give you the best opportunity to learn hands on, how to do your role to the highest standard. You would spend 2 weeks on your dedicated days shadowing a member of staff, and then the following 2 weeks you will take the lead supporting and have the member of staff shadowing you. You will also receive induction training for 4x Thursdays throughout your first month from the internal training team.

Development:

At Loddon, we are passionate about staff development and progression. If you are not qualified to the equivalent of a Level 3 Residential Childcare Diploma, we would enrol you once you have completed your 3-month probation with the support of our dedicated internal training department.

Throughout your career at Loddon, you will continuously receive training and support to help you develop within the school. Whether this be to undertake a QTS, a Team Leading Qualification or various Level 2 funded courses related to the work you do.

Salary:

The hourly rate is from £9.52 – £10.10.

**The hourly rate is dependent on relevant qualifications and previous experience within a similar setting**

Part time Learning & Care Support Assistant

We have 7 exciting new opportunities to work in our dynamic, experienced and supportive care team to facilitate the children’s day and evening routines at the Loddon School. Activities include movie nights, reading books and supporting their independence with household tasks and personal care.

We now have some part time vacancies (between 15-25 hours per week) for those of you seeking flexible work in Care who cannot commit to a full time role.

These roles are ideal for college students, perhaps studying Level 3 Health & Social Care, or parents returning to work who are unable to work a full shift.

5pm-10pm 5x nights per week / 6pm-10pm 3 times per week and 8 hours on a Saturday or Sunday etc.
