2x Trustee Vacancies – Voluntary (supporting Training and Health and Safety)

The Loddon School was founded in 1988 as a charitable trust on the outskirts of Basingstoke.  The organisation is based upon PROACT-SCIPr-UK®, a person centred, values-based and non-aversive philosophy developed by the founder, Marion Cornick MBE.  The charity provides a school and external training facility; and is one of the leading educational and residential provisions for children with the most severe and complex learning difficulties and autism in the UK

An Ofsted outstanding independent residential (52 week) school – we currently support 30 children with fees paid for fully by local authorities.  As such, the Charity has not had a need to fundraise and donations make up a very small amount of total income.  Loddon Training and Consultancy (LTC) delivers BILD Accredited courses in PROACT-SCIPr-UK® across the UK and currently has over 700 instructors.  LTC provides training based on a holistic approach to support, and is one of the largest training providers in Positive Approaches / Restraint Reduction / Physical Intervention training in the country.

The Board of Trustees and Charity Leadership Team have a great opportunity to look at developing the Loddon site, broadening the scope of the charity and developing new and exciting strategies for the long-term future.

We have a really active Board of Trustees (also School Governors/Directors) who have been working closely with us for a number of years.  We thoroughly appreciate the professional expertise of our critical friends and we are therefore seeking support from two additional Trustees with a background in training or health and safety.

Ideally, you will have some experience of working within a charitable organisation and applicants with Education or Health and Social Care experience would be welcomed but this is not essential.

If you are motivated by an opportunity to use your skills and experience to make a real difference to our pioneering work at The Loddon School please contact Charlotte Walton, c.walton@loddonschool.co.uk; for a full briefing pack or Steve Fussey, Chair of Trustees, s.fussey@loddonschool.org for an informal discussion.
