Local Community

The young people at The Loddon School® play an active role in the local community and this is greeted by a warm welcome by many.

The students join in with local activities within the local community including the ramblers club, a local gym, the Jump Factory, community swimming pool, sensory activity centres, dance club and visits to local restaurants, cafes and garden centre.

As a community service act, the students deliver the local community magazines and help out at the local country park.

Moving towards greater independent living, the students visit local shops to collect groceries before cooking some meals.

We have a growing number of partnerships with the local special schools and have regular visits from schools as we offer work experience in the paddocks and gardens, art and theatre workshops and Forest Schools experiences.

The children at The Loddon School® regularly attend competitions, and are winners at a number of the local and regional sports events and annually take part in the Schools Shakespeare Festival held at the Basingstoke Anvil Theatre.
