The Loddon School, based in Sherfield-on-Loddon is both a home and school to 30 children who have the most severe and complex learning difficulties and severe autism. Our children live at the school 52 weeks a year. The Loddon School is a home which provides education, leisure, play and outings.

Role

The role is to care for our children on a daily basis and ensure all their needs are met. We focus on care and education 24/7 at the school. Instead of teaching our children in classrooms learning for our children takes place via activities. There is no typical day at Loddon as every day is different so if you are looking for a new and exciting challenge this is the place for you!

Activities could range from a long walk through the country or meeting our animals at our very own farm. You could be taking part in a swimming lesson at our pool or you might be having an art or music lesson outside in our vast grounds.

About you

We are looking for dedicated individuals who are passionate about providing the highest standards of care and facilitating opportunities for learning for our wonderful children. Previous experience of looking after children with autism would be an advantage however a can-do attitude and commitment to the children and your team is equally as important and full training will be given.

Shift Pattern (7.30am – 8pm / 11.30am – 10pm)

Week 1 – Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday.

Week 2 – Wednesday, Thursday, Friday (7.30am-11.30am)

* You will have the opportunity to earn an additional £77.05 per sleep in.

We have many different facilities including; an indoor swimming pool, paddocks area with ponies, donkey’s, pigs, sheep and chickens, café area, sensory adventure playground, sensory rooms and leisure barn. Learning & Support Assistant (Nights)

You will ensure the safety of the children throughout the night adhering to school’s policies, procedures and the children’s guidelines. You must be prepared to work flexible hours to ensure that planned activities take place with adequate staffing and supervision.

Specialist Trainer

Loddon Training & Consultancy is based in Field House Barn in Basingstoke and we are currently seeking a Specialist Trainer.

The salary in the region of £30,000 per annum depending on experience and qualifications. Your working hours will be 162.5 a month, normal working hours will be 8.30am – 4.30pm Monday to Friday. You will be entitled to 35 days annual leave (this includes bank holidays).

The role is to contribute to the organisation, delivery and administration of PROACT-SCIPr-UK® training provided by The Loddon Training & Consultancy – the external training division of The Loddon Foundation.

About you

To have excellent communication skills and have an ability to use up to date modern techniques for training delivery. You should have good time management and administration skills related to the training process.  You must be prepared to travel and stay away from home overnight to support organisations who wish to access our services.

You will need to have a professional or vocational qualification, for working within Health and Social Care e.g. a Diploma in Social Work, a teaching or education-based qualification, a Health Professional registration such as Nurse or Occupational Therapist or relevant degree and ideally a teaching qualification e.g. AET Level 3. You must have experience in the practice of positive behaviour supports, behaviour analysis and the use of effective communication whilst supporting individuals who may exhibit behaviours of concern such as autism or severe learning disabilities.

The Role

The main duties will be to deliver PROACT-SCIPr-UK® courses in accordance with the PROACT-SCIPr-UK® systems and guidelines, the Restraint Reduction Network Training Standards 2019 (RRN Training Standards 2019), and any additional specific course requirements as appropriate. You will support PROACT-SCIPr-UK® Principal Instructors and Instructors with the provision of additional training, advice and support both internally within the Loddon Foundation and to other PROACT-SCIPr-UK® organisations.

When not delivering training, you will be required to maintain your personal CPD file through the development of your practice, skills and knowledge, and ensuring that you are able to work within current legislation and codes of practice. This will include retaining professional registration and the maintenance of registration with BILD Association of Certified Training (ACT) and professional bodies within the teaching and learning sector.
